You got the vintage Fenders. You got the vintage SVT but there is something lacking in your tone.
Flatwound strings. You will never get the John Paul Jones "first four Zep" tone with your Jazz basses and you can't get the Jamerson Motown tone with your P with roundwounds. Flats are what you need. They have pure authentic vintage fat tone. They cause virtually zero fret-fingerboard wear. Best of all,you NEVER have to change them out. Flats actually improve in sound the more you play.
Cheers.

No way in the 60s he had rounds.
if those are roundwounds on "Dazed and Confused" they are the DEADEST rounds I ever heard.

hey thanx for tuning in. i'm glad you dig the tone and gear. i guess i like my strap low, and i wouldn't do it if it compromised my playing. but mr lemmy made a good point, perhaps i'm depriving viewers of a certain region. haha. anyways, thanx again for tuning in and stay tuned in for more cool stuff to come.

hey thanx for tuning in. sunn amps are totally rad. i actually almost bought a '69 sunn last month, but i had to make a choice between that and a '74 hiwatt custom 200. long story short i went with the hiwatt but i wish i could afford them all. oh well. but i hope you stay tuned for some more cool stuff to come soon.

.....still think the P-bass sounds the best! J-basses are way too thin. As for the Ampeg rig, you are a lucky man! And strong as well! I used to own an early 90's SVT-II and 8x10, and it was STUPID heavy and large. So I switched to a 40-pound Mesa Bass 400 and a 2x15 :]

what exactly do each input do? I like the jazz bass tone. Full volume growl overdrive on those kick ass.
