How do we deal with parents who are drug addicts or alcoholics? Do we just accept the dangers they pose? Is it enough to rely on rehabilitation services and monitoring? Or as a last resort should the authorities step in? How many chances should they get before they forfeit their rights to be parents? There are no easy answers.
