She is. And she is such an original. I read Michael Shurtleff's story about when she auditioned for him once. She came in late, with mismatched shoes, in a GIANT fur coat. She started singing her song, of course she was lovely. Then she stops the acompanist and says "Sorry, I forgot to take out my gum" she takes it out, puts it under the stool, and finishes. When they looked at the bottom of the stool, there was no gum. It got her noticed, and she wasn't afraid to take risks. She's just awesome.

the "butter reference", which, inexplicably someone took exception to and gave a thumbs down, was a reference to Mike Meyer's character of Linda Richman who was obsessed with Barbra.

Oh yeah. I remember, that SNL skit. It all makes far more sense now.
Coincidentally, in Shaun of the Dead, the character this quote referred to is named Barbara. It wasn't as flattering a quote though.

this is a nice rendition of the song... its a bit jazzier than the others she did after this on in my opinion. Early babs was a bit more jazzy before become musical theater then 70's pop diva
