They have some amazing coffees in Europe, but I think of the major chains in America, Peets is so much better as far as their basic coffee goes. But then again, I think that's what a coffee shop should be based on - their actual coffees rather than their myriad sugar filled frou frou drinks

I agree with you. Peets is the best coffee in the world. FYI. If you are ever in Nevada, Peets coffee hasn't caught on yet, and they sell the ground coffee for about $5.00 a bag, instead of $11.

Goddamn right, Peet's is best hands down. I drink more coffee than anyone I know, and it's my culinary passion, nothing matches Peet's. An official Peet's shop is something Reno (my home town) severely lacked forever. But they just a a few weeks ago built a mini Peet's shop in my grocery store a block away, pastries, espresso, and all. I am VERY stoked about that. I will be there every morning.
