First of all, I didn't bring party into this, but since you brought it up, the US first started doing things in Vietnam at the orders of Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican.
Also, who started the Vietnam War to fight the communsits? Lyndon Johnson, a Democrat.
Also, look at what meddling in Vietnam did to the US. It's the same thing now in Iraq only worse.

Carter destablized the ME by allowing the rise of the Ayatollah. We toppled Saddam because he was aiding and funding terrorists; the only reason he was a threat was because of his oil and money...The reason Europe and the UN didn't want us to enter Iraq was because they were making billions in oil contracts...Ending Saddam's reign of terror would have ended the cash flow, therefore Europeans protested the invasion...Iraq was justified on humanitarian grounds and legal grounds.

American involvment in Vietnam began with Kennedy. Typical of Democrats, they didn't want to fight the war and therefore it turned into a quagmire. Johnson made bad even worse...The only similarities between Vietnam and Iraq is the Democrats wanted us to lose both, and they have sabotaged both.

Wow, you know NOTHING about history. First of all Vietnam was split down the middle. Half of the Dems supported it and half opposed it. Half of the Reps supported and half opposed it. We had two president for the war, one Democrat, Johnson, and one Republican, Nixon.

US involvement in Vietnam began under Kennedy, he was the first to commit troops...Democrats refused to fight the war efficiently, they fought it incompetently, and this dragged the war out. Johnson refused to provide air-cover to our troops and allies, resulting in massive American casualties...The quagmire was dumped on Richard Nixon who brought peace, the Democrats abandoned our obligations to Vietnam and a blood-bath resulted.

Iraq has been the most effectively and efficiently war in American history. It is more successful than the Democrats wanted. Nixon was elected promising to end the war and he stuck it out for another four years. In fact he had been re-elected before ending it.

No, it was Eisenhower who first sent troops to Vietnam. You are so deep in the whole party politics bull crap, you're ignoring the facts. True, Johnson managed the war badly, but his party has nothing to do with that.
Nixon dragged the quagmire out for another four years. Party is irrelevant. The US never shoudl have been in Vietnam, the same way we never should have been in iraq.

So why don't we make some North Koreans lives better? Kim Jong Il is a hell of a lot worse than Saddam was, and he definitely had WMD's since he was bragging about them the whole time. Probably because there's no huge oil supply there.
