| I have seen this on TRT. I noticed that the presenters were very careful when they speak about Uygurs. They could not say Ugyhurs from Eastern Turkistan because they got pressure fromt he Chinese. In Turkey everyone calls Estern Turkistan not Xinjiang Uyghur Automous region which is given by Chinese occupier. |

| well I am turkish and I listen to an Uyghur news podcast to expose my self to other turkish dialects. I can understand in general what they are talking about. So I would say at least 60% |

| At the begginning it is difficult to understand, you have to get used to the accent. Because Uyghurs and Turks from Turkey have not had contact for hundreds of years, that is why it is difficult to understand at the beginning but all uyhgurs who went to Turkey picked up the language within 2 months. I was also shocked when I realised the similartiy of Uyghurs and Turkish. Especially very old idoms and some supersiticous tradition. |

| I have hear the news from RFA. Their passports were taken away when they did this performance in Turkey. They were not allowed to contact with any Uyghurs in Turkey. Probably that is why the dancers and singers do not look very happy. |

| Thanks for your response. Uyghurs can understand Turkish. But can "ALL" Turks from Turkey understand the Uyghur language? Did you try speaking Uyghur to the Turks in Turkey? |
