no one will probly agree. ut all of those "spectators" were probly part of it. there was probly an outline on the wall thing to make it look like the airplane was there and they wheeled it out the back or somehting.

I think it's an optical illusion and the plane is not 3D. That is why the camera never
shows a 360 degree view of the plane. The
'manequin' in the cockpit is shown for perspective to the tv audience. The plane folds in on it's self and becomes part of the runway - that's my thoughts. This is a brilliant illusion. Can't take anything away from copperfield - genius illusion !

Yep i think it's a mannequin. This was used
by the cameraman to ensure he didn't cross a
visual line revealing the trick and to give
the tv audience perspective - that's just my thoughts. The cameraman knew to stay on an angle that gave the impression the plane was fully 3 dimensional when it really wasn't !

Yep i think the plane was an optical illusion. The mannequin was used for perspective for the cameraman to ensure he filmed the correct angle as to not reveal the trick and also to create the illusion of
perspective for the tv audience.
I think the entire plane is 2D and folds in on itself to form the runway !

YES ! i have it. I can confirm without a doubt how this trick was done. At 00:39 you can clearly see the "mannequin" figure and the front cockpit window (his right) with a shadow cast onto the window which in fact is not a window as it is not clear and you can't see the other side as it has been covered to form what will become the floor that's not the part of the trick that reveals how it is done. It is this..

..There clearly is a mannequin - albeit a 2d optical illusion which casts a shadow onto what obviously is the 'back' of the window which will become the floor..However the 'shadow' shown at 1"59 does not have the mannequin inside which means the image at 1"59 is a projection - allowing copperfields crew enough time to packdown the 2d image onto the floor ! 2 totally different images. THE PLANE SHOWN and THE IMAGE PROJECTED do not match !

Yes its 3d, but it isn't a real plane and if you notice that at 1:00, behind David is a flat panel, because this is the back of the plane which becomes the runway. It scrunches down so it is flat and looks linke the original runway. To help hide the fact that the 'plane' is scrunched into the runway, the final shot is very zoomed out.

Yeah, that's part of it, just the plane scrunches into the floor b/c its 1/2 a plane and the backside become the runway, or a carpet sortof thing covers the plane after it scrunches into the ground.

Yeapers, real plane at first, then a 2D fake one in the final shot. Sad when a magician needs so many paid actors to pretend to be the audience. I wonder how many of them actually helped to fold down the fake plane. At least as bad as Criss Angel.

I don't think it was a 2d cutout. Why would they bother?
I believe the plane was a real plane, perhaps stripped down to half its weight without engines etc.. Just like many of his other tricks and the same way Crissfakerangel does it, at least half the audience are in on the trick. Once the curtain goes up, they step aside and allow the plane to be pulled out, then they reform the chain as the curtain is brought back up.
The projected image is a cardboard cutout for sure.

I'd like to point out to the trick busters that DC says that the spectators are blindfolded to protect the secret of the illusion. Seems the whole magic is'nt real premise is what's fake.
