no no....hehehe. i went and checked it out....it's WAY fast. the album does it at about 89 BPM and that live performance is around 100. (somebodyjones done knows his SHEEIT) lol. i realized b/c the tempo's one of the coolest things about that disk... bootsy's WAAAYYY laid-back drumming is SICK. that shit taught me what "laying back" means in the first place. (career musician here) :)

I think you're totally right on this, P-funk in general demonstrates funk doesn't have to be fast to be groovy. One thing tho, P-funk is definitely *not* cool, its hot! (Sir Nose D'Voidoffunk is cool, to cool to dance actually.) ;-)

bootsy plays bass. I think they pick it up a little live just because its a little higher energy for the crowd and all. But yah, the album speed is super groovy. THese guys are the greatest band I've ever heard live, that's for sure.
