This is a video I recorded of all of Solid Snake's Codec transmissions in the game Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Nintendo Wii.

This is just an Easter Egg that was included in Super Smash Bros. Brawl ... You can do this yourself by playing as Snake against any character on the "Shadow Moses Island" stage. Quickly hit Down on the D-Pad to do the Down Taunt. This must be done in a split second--if done incorrectly, Snake will do his standard hiding inside a box animation, but if done correctly, you'll see Snake kneel down on one leg and motion with his head and hands as if he's talking into an Earpiece. Then the codec will pop up.
This Easter Egg is also available for the Star Fox characters, Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, and Wolf O'donnell. However, it is on different stages.
Fox, Falco : Corneria
Fox, Falco, Wolf : Lylat Cruise
Hit Down on the D-Pad quickly, like the Snake Easter Egg. If done correctly, Fox / Falco / Wolf will look down at the floor, crouch down a bit, and shake their fist rapidly. Then character conversations will play out.
Note : On the Lylat Cruise stage, the conversations won't actually start until the ship warp-jumps into the next area of Lylat Cruise. The conversation is different depending on which area of Lylat Cruise you're flying through.
