We need like about 4,000 of these lasers all over the place. That way, we won't have to fear nuclear weapons, of course next there will be stealth IBMs if not already.

Yeah, the problem is they need to be on patrol 24/7 over other nuclear powers territory. Which i imagine the other country wouldn't be too happy about. Then of course you would need to defend them. And this system is targeting ground launched ballistic missles, not cruise missles or submarine launched weapons.

No doubt for a small nation like North Korea this system could remain in friendly or neutral territory, Russia or China with ICBM fields deep in their own vast territory would be another question.
Do i think Rick Garcia is lying? No, i think he's doing his job as director of public affairs and trying to sell his product. I,m not saying anyone here is lying, but i remain sceptical ( due to faked tests in the past ) and would be happy to be directed to tests showing a lasers destructive ability.

this will only work on missiles tho... cause its not an über powerful laser that can blow up anything it just heats the fuel tank up to the point of explosion...

So? If you can bring down ICMs, then your fighters don't have to scrambled to deal with it, OR can concentrate with other possible threats.

Um, i hate to break it to you but no fighter air craft or air to air missile can reliably hit an ICBM except in it's launch stage, which would require the fighter being over the launch site at the time of launch.

Who would have thought stealth technologies down fall would be mobile phone networks. Don't get me wrong various forms of 'stealth' are still usefull, but flying over a nation with a mobile phone network is quite dangerous for an aircraft relying mainly on a low radar signiture.
