firstly,
1) the R8 has a 4.2L V8, while the Corvette has a 7L V8
2) the Audi produces about 400 horsepower and the 'Vette about 500
3) the Corvette is slightly lighter than the R8
so clearly we can conclude that the Corvette is at least a more powerful car.
SO ITS PRETTY FUCKING OBVIOUS THAT IT WILL BEAT THE R8 IN A STRAIGHT DRAG RACE U TWATS! DUH
all Yanks care about are 1/4 mile drag races, which prove nothing! OF COURSE the more powerful car will win! R8 is better. this proves nothing at all

the Z06 isnt a terrible handling car, but the R8 definetely handles better. R8 is the best handling car according to Motortrend. the best handling american car was the Viper ACR and finihsed 7th place in MT's handling comparo.

The Z06 is great in the turns..and is a lot less then the R8. How come anytime an American car beats a foreign car..everyone says "let see it in the twistys" So lame..it was a drag race. HOW many people actually race around on curvy public roads? If you do then you are an idiot. Last I check..the ZR1 and Viper both have the records at the nurburgring and cost tons less.

Yes R8 handles better, but costs a lot more ! The Z06 ran the Ring in 7"42/43 with a standing start, so it handles very good because the Ring is 60 % corners and this is a very good time !

that wasnt my opinion, the R8 won the handling comparo in Motortrend, so it has to handle better than the Z06. but yes the Z06 beats R8 at the Nurburgring. but also the Z06 has 85 more HP and 400lb less. Give both car the same power/same wieght, i bet the R8 will outlap the Z06 as well as the viper ACR.

But they don't have the same weight/power, that's why the Z06 beats the R8 by a lot, and it's cheaper, and gets better mpg.
The R8 is magnificent, but if Motor Trend thinks says it's so much better handling but looses to the Z06 by that much at the Nurb, then they're on crack.
