Sometimes, it doesn't come down to who did a song better. It comes down to style and preference and what others covering your songs have done with it it. I love Boiwe and don't think he'd be horrified with this Bauhaus cover. I kind of like this cover even though I love Bowie. Who did it better? maybe they're two different songs.

Bauhaus made an homage to a legend a mere what, 10 years after the song released? And absolutely stole every essence of soul from the song and outdid the "freak hero pariah" storyline? Amazing how thievery back in the day ended up in making a new sound and advancing style, nowadays it's just dumb repetition. Amazing our civilization is advancing at all.

great cover, maybe better musically, but i get a very different feeling when i listen to bowies, his song i think gives the story inside the song more feel, and makes it come more alive, bowies version has a third dimention, like alot of his songs *space oddity* that makes his stuff seem more....i dont know how to explain it, mind capturing? still a great cover, without a doubt
