It's because they were different - they were punk, but they had some sort of rap style and flow as well. WAY different than anyone else. And the rap was good, slightly reminiscent of 90s rap. Now, it's lost, and they've lost their edge. Rise Against is punk, but LP's "What I've Done"? That's not punk.
