crap! this is rubbish! the only good thing its ricki lake. The 2007 movie is way better! And the dancing in tht is amazing. Full of life energy, and rythm. These people look like they are 80 year olds who are gunna drop down dead and second!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Mattie506,the Madison was a very popular dance in the early 60's. You obviously did not grow up dancing in the 60's

Well said phatton1054. Mattie506 you really shouldn't make statements about things you obviously know nothing about. If you knew anything at all you would know that the original film by John Waters as with a lot of his output is all based on his experiences in Baltimore around the late 50s early 60s. This film is a cartoon snapshot of that time and the 2007 version is a heap of shit in comparison. Now get back to your homework and leave the grown ups alone.

yer i understand completely. This one is all most exactly how the 60's were and is a very good. On the other hand the musical was aimed at a younger audience, and its a musical! so its a Sorta musicalized - dnt no if thts a word, version of the time. and the music is fuller in the musical, and dancing is faster sets are biger. So like i sed b4 its a movie musical not a movie. soz i didnt mean 2 offend any1.

The CLASSIC, and ORIGINAL HAIRSPRAY!! I love this one! The 2007 version is a watered down version of this one, with REALITY-BASED events from the 60's. Ricki Lake is the original Tracy Turnblad, Micheal St. Gerard is the original Link Larkin. The original HairSpray will last forever!!
