Video Description:
Thanks to Rustyfan for this great capture. In 1960 Daytona Superspeedway hosted this sportsman race. 68 cars entered into the race, back then there were a maximum of 68 cars in a superspeedway race. Coming out of turn four 37 cars get into a massive wreck where at least six cars get on their roofs. Amazingly, evryone walked away from this.

| It's less that their brakes suck and more that they're driving 150+ mph.......it's not too easy to brake when you're going that fast and it's really hard to keep control if you're trying to break that hard. There wasn't much the drivers could do once ppl in front of them lost control. |

| i know its hard to brake at theat speed im just saying those late cars that piled in was way on the backstretch and had enough time to stop. maybe they didnt see the wreck way down there i dont know, maybe its becuase they didnt have caution lights back then so they probably didnt see the wreck until they were nearly into turn 3. |

| Yeah that's probably right. Either that or they thought they were gonna get a gap to make it through. Hopefully they didn't see it till it was too late. I'd say with all the cars that close together it would be hard to look too far down the track cuz of all the action so close to you. Who knows what happened but it sure was a killer pileup |

| I have, I went to Daytona Beach in Florida on holiday, and as well as seeing the fattest people I've ever seen in my life I also got the chance to drive around it. Okay, maybe I didn't exceed 180mph (I would've if they went that fast, but health and safety shit blah blah....) And it was the easiest thing I had ever done in my life. | the guy who caused this accident is named dick or richard foley. i fixed the docks at this home here in montreal quebec. he's 76 now with a 45 year old wife. 3 airplanes and 30 cars in his bunker. out of 56 races he won 44, got 2nd place 9 times 3rd twice and 4th once! |
