Most religions have ... ( 1 year ago by wheel449)
Most religions have their spiritual systems, they have they great masters. The Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism to name couple. It is unwise to say I teach the one & only system which works. Simple man lacks right intent, devotion, desire and that blocks reaching a Creator. A working man turns a religion to spirituality. Only a quick glance will never let you to say- it is only faith based religion.

Definition of ... ( 6 months ago by Aethah121)
Definition of religion:
*A strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny
*An organized set of beliefs and faith regarding the spiritual or metaphysical world.
*A set of attitudes, beliefs, and practices pertaining to supernatural power
Since the underlying principles of Kabbalah do adhere to the definitions above taken from the dictionary, it is therefor a religion.

RE: Aethah121 - Wrong wrong wrong
- "Belief" doesn't exist in Kabbalah. One of its first rules is "the judge has only what his eyes can see," meaning that if you don't attain a clear perception of the force controlling our reality, then you shouldn't blindly believe it exists (like people do in religion). This is one of the main reasons why Kabbalah is a science, and definitely not a religion.

"meaning that if you don't attain a clear perception of the force controlling our reality".
That right there is pure interpretation and pure theory. Many mystics/traditions have stated the contrary. Whenever two or more opposing views appear all under the name of "clear perception" i do not see how this can be empirically qualified as 'scientific'.

This isn't Kabbalah! Read the books! This stuff doesn't make anyone's "religion cool." It is just one man's attempt (and his closest followers) to make himself a savior. This makes it "Kabbalah" about as much as Madonna's videos are "spiritual."

Then where is the evidence for its claims? I would love to see proof of its claims from a well respected scientist not some physicist who claims consciousness affects reality just by mystical crap. Where is the evidence for its claims? And if its such an ancient science why is there no talk of evolution in the book?

Kaballah is certainly religion. All at the very least its an aspect or subset of a religion. Accordng to wikipedia
"A religion is a way of life based on tenets (or a belief system) about the ultimate power."
Kaballah is a belief system about how one can gain knowledge about the nature of reality, which is in a sense the ultimate power.
You will often hear something similar from from buddhists who say that buddhism is not a religion but a way of life or a set of methodlogies.

ah well if wikipedia says so... lol
Religion is the search for spiritual truth from a source outside of oneself. Kaballah is the search for spiritual truth from the source inside oneself.
