I don't feel like you're being offensive at all, btw. I have dated many different races including black men. I've always judged a man based mostly on his personality and appearance. I never felt awkward at all, but that's just me. From MY experience, black men are more honest and up-front. They have also been more positive and more fun to be around. I love my white husband with all of my heart, but I sometimes miss my black men..lol. (NOT because of the penis myth, either! hehe)

My first boyfriend was my best friend who is an Asian boy. My "relationship" (we were only 13) with him was very normal where I lived at the time. We were both living outside of the US, and we were in a very diverse neighborhood where no one really gave race a second thought. It wasn't until my family moved to America that I realized how much people took notice to interracial dating. In the airport my parents got a lot of stares as if people were saying, "what are they doing together?"

Hi i'm white I just never had a probleam I think one girl did as we wnent to amovie and there were three black men there and she wanted to move to the right side of theater but myself I just did not pay any attention to it with any black women I dated I guess what i'm saying if one is not thinking that the other person is a differant color you don't have a probleam is this making since. If I see a WOMEN and I like her so what does it matter.

yeah... i have heard that in some other countries, it's social class that is taken into consideration.... but alot of other countries don't have racism... i find that fascinating because i thought racism was everywhere... but then again not every country has had a race history like usa

Hi !
I have always dated black women (and yes I'm white :-) and never had a problem with it. Not in my family, not with my friends and nowehre actualy. And frankly I wouldn't care.
I am now married to a black woman and I have a mixed kid sun. I think we should all date interracial and mix up - so racism will soon be over. Once everyone is mixed we all have a nice tan !!

I'm white and I have always dated black men. It's not the fact I wont date white men, I just have never been interested. But anyways, there have been times where it in the start of the relationship, it was awkward. With time, things always got better but even today, there have been time when people will make racial comments. The true is, not everyone agrees with dating outside your race but it shoudn't matter the person's color, aslong as they treat you right and love you for you.

I think that if you are the type of person who cares what other people think, it may be a problem. I have dated interracially, and didn't have any awkwardness. But, I guess I have a different perspective since I am a product of an interracial relationship.
I think if you pray over it your true love will come. Be open to the packaging he is in :0). You hit it right on the head, "A good man".
Keep in mind he won't be perfect you may have to "encourage" or "mold" him in certain areas.

Feeling Awkwardness..D that is going to depend on how badly you want something. Whatever you do not allow people to ever dictate how you should feel. Dating interacially is not a sprint, it takes alot of patience and understanding. After a while you will come to the realization that all men are pretty much the same and thats real! good luck!!

i know... again ur right... i am finding out that men are all the same... though different in some things... but basically there are no major differences .... and any relationship will take work, an understanding and patience... so i do get that

D what matters most is compatability. All the criteria you outlined is important but also look for a guy who shares your interest regardless of race. You would probably do good to choose a more mature man. If he's white he shouldn't pretend not to notice race but he, and you for that matter, shouldn't be obsessed by it. If you can find someone who loves and respects you and shares your interest you will be happy.
