In the lead up to WW2, Maybach was an independent luxury car manufacturer from Germany. After WW2, they and many others in Germany went out of business. In the last 15 years a lot of old car companies that had ceased to exist have been brought back by companies like Audi and BMW. Maybach is owned by Mercedes. Bugatti is another example. They ceased to exist as a car manufacturer 40 or so years ago, now Volkswagen have brought them back.

That's interesting. So, after calling Al Gore a hypocrite and getting some of the "skeptics" on the show, he did it for the environment? I haven't listened to him recently, so I just wonder why he "changed" his view. Anyway, although we should "drill baby drill", we should be finding much longer-term solutions of alternative energy.
