Police are better than U2. Not by much, but they were far more innovative and orginial. U2 is like a jump of all the great late 20th century rock bands, and thats what makes them great. Police just win on innovation, and the fact that the lead singer wasnt a wanker like bono.

I am not a big U2 fan at all, but please, Coldplay is nowhere near their level. Coldplay's lyrics aren't nearly as deep or well written, and the songs just arent as moving. Simple as that.

I like U@, you dont- welcome to personal opinions and taste. I find that their music speaks to me. If rap, or cold play speaks to you- than shoot- go for it. I dont listen to music simply to pass time- the music i listen to means something to me. wether its a song from my favorite childhood movie, or a song that spoke to me in the depths of despair and hoplessness that is what music is about. for me- U2 does that. for you, perhaps cold play.
