no he never passed out on stage..that was just in the movie to add to the drama effect. He smashed the footlights at the Grand Ole Opry with the Mic stand and the Grand Ole Opry said they coulnt use him anymore. When he was nearing his death his vision became so bad that he was pretty close to blind

I read further down and some of the other guys commented that Johnny missed a verse. I'm embarrased to say it, I missed that and they are correct.That's what luther said. he wasn't pissed, he was surprised. Live T.V. and all...

I love how it's hella awkward when Johnny says "I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die". Definitely one of the best lyrics in Rock N' Roll!!!
