As much as I hate to admit it (why, I don't know), I believe Lizzie either did it or knew who did and kept quiet. The strange element in this case is that you tend to side with Lizzie even though she committed this terrible deed. I guess it is like rooting for the murderer in a good film.

...You know, this is kind of like the O.J. Simpson trial of the 1800's. It's pretty obvious that she did it, because she had a thousand conflicting alibis, but the lack of physical evidence (admittedly more justifiable than O.J's situation) got her acquitted. I wonder why there was such a lack of blood, though. Imagine what would happen if this happened in modern times? She wouldn't get acquitted I bet.

In my opinion, she did it and got away with it, because, as was said in the film, no one thought a woman could have committed such murders. Lucky Lizzie. Or was she? It couldn't have been nice to be beyond the pale.
