why are people who haven't seen the movie even commenting on it? you would have to watch bamboozled to understand the context of this scene.... this movie has a lot of depth and perspective... goes into stereotypes, and exploitation of "blak" people

I heard one black viewer behind me say "Spike Lee's gotta go back to film school." Comming from a black guy it sounded serious.
I thought the movie was more of a cynical view on the media. Americans have low standards for TV; forst Jerry Springer, then reality TV, Big, Brother, Paris Hilton, etc.
Blackface isn't funny and it's also disturbing. But some audiences will watch anything.

This movie predicted the terrorist attacks, and killing people on video that's happening right now. This came out in 1999? - within a few years you had the video killings of Daniel Pearl and others. Degrading depictions? How about the "Cartoon Riots"?
Spike Lee basically predicted the next 10 years with this film.

Also Sloan may be Lee's best female character, with the exception of a few early parts. Sloan was 100% believable and even her relationship with her brother, which was mostly played for laughs, was still believable. That actress was great.
