For decades I have detested this piece,dreading
one more classical guitarist's recital of it.
In Tampalini's hands it sounds like the greatest
revelation of deep human truth possible.
Every phrase is clear sonically and spiritually.

absolutely Fabulous Giulio's playing is.Isbin,Russell,
Fisk,and 99.9% of all the 'classical'musicians should
be put in a jail with Giulio in charge.They should
only be let out only when they can show Maestro
Giulio that they have learned from him what music
can be.If Giulio were in charge of the music

Dear 1050,I'm the 1 guitarist I have ever heard who plays this repertoire well other than Giulio.
I'm recording an album of Giuliani in late Winter
on a 10 string from the 1780s using historic
interpretive technique based on italian Opera recordings from 100 years ago.I'll post the videos

Dear 1050,Part 2...On youtube Peo Kindgren is the only other guitarist other than Giulio as of Aug
2007 who plays in a full human way.Go to my favorites
to find other instrumentalists who will touch you.
By the way,Peo plays Barrios and Coste with great beauty as Guilio plays Guiliani here.Best Wishes

Dear 1050,
I'm very familiar with Stefano's playing having served on a faculty with him at Antwerpen in 1994.
His playing is the consistently the best classical guitar playing I have ever heard.His interpretation & technique R always a near perfect fully human
thing.But I've never heard him play this repertoire,
as I do not think that he has the temperment or
liking for it.

It's a Royal Conservatory Of Music grade 10 piece (second highest grade). I'd advise a beginner not to attempt it.
