I got Tumbo flies in Nigeria. Similar, but the fly lays it's eggs on damp clothing. If you don't iron your clothes after they're out on the line the eggs hatch with your body heat.

It is NOT true! One could scrub oneself raw with lye soap and still get mosquito bites! Maybe something like this should happen to you or someone you love and you'd smarten up. Dermal Botfly Infestation can happen to anyone of any age and any degree of cleanliness anywhere Botflies dwell.

you need to have a good camp sanitation to prevent attraction to botflies and cover yourself with protective clothe and apply an insect repellent,before go to trvel...
