just curious, but which enterprise are we talking here? the original ncc-1701(featured on the original show) the ncc-1701-a (from i think it was star trek iv on, and yes i know the one on the show wasnt the a, have an encyclopedia on this buried somewhere at my mother's house that says as much), the b featured in undiscovered country (i think, whichever one where picard met kirk)? the c? the d?(next generation-era) or the latest model, the ncc-1701-e?

perhaps hmhw180, but on the flip side of the equation, apple is quite possibly the only thing keeping microsoft anywhere NEAR in check (sadly enough, im a pc user, but i wanna be an apple user, the only things keeping me from it are a) lack of money b) too lazy to transition c)the insulting commercials, and d)compatibility with modern games (what is that looking like nowadays, anyhow?)

the lever is to pull the drive spindle and head down onto the disk (kind of like the way it's done mechanically in a 3.5 inch floppydrive or with a motor in a cd/drom/dvd/dvd-rom drive)

tch, you have a point. I have windows vista myself :) it isn't half bad once you get rid of the clocks and calenders and other itsy bitsy things that slow it down so much is possibly going backwards..

hehe, not yet. It is the newest of the named drives and thus my fav. Actually the most troublesome right now is Simmons 2.0.... as in its not working. Buuuut I just got another drive as well that needs naming.... so I have had my thinking cap on. Its not brand new, its used, and it had two brothers named Yoda and Obi-Wan that still belong to the previous user. Anyhow. Thats where Im at.

dont feel bad, i know how annoying they can be (i have a portable you can add your own drive to that i wore out the cables on by putting different hard drives in constantly) sometimes
as for the name, see how it plays out, sinces it's new (to you) and you dont know how it's gonna turn out, call it darth maul if it's 11 flavors of awsome, or jarjar binks if it's annoying and more or less useless

i know pretty much nothing about star trek... i am much more of a star wars nerdfighter.... which explains my bias.... another relevant question might be, which of the four classes of Star Destroyer? ;)

good point, i know a little more about star wars than you apparently do star trek (no offense, lol) but i'd have to look into it.
i suppose the easiest way to solve this is to compare them (as closely as possible) to current naval ships and see how they would stack up that way... (btw, you have an im or something i can post to? the 500 word limit severely limits this conversation)

it has been forever since I read the books with Prawn.... or anything from the extended universe haha. All I know about ST is from, I believe, the 4th movie.... when they're on earth.... that movie is hilarious.... he tries to operate the computer by talking to the mouse... I was actually reminded of that scene when I was making this video.
I also know that ST: Nemesis ruined a perfectly good noun, not to mention the name of my bowling team that year lol

sadly enough i havent been able to see nemesis yet, lot goin on in my life since then and now

as for prawn, all i really know about him is he was supposedly an amazing admiral during the time period of episodes iv through vi. and he had a secret self-cloning project set up as a back up in case he ever died, supposedly

as for oregon trail, it was more or less a jock game (considering the kids i knew either were jocks or grew up to become jocks) where i grew up, cuz it was on all the computers and they all played it just so they could kill stuff

First... back up the train.... dont we mean Admiral THrawn? i dont think there were any admirals named after crustaceans. Second... he was an admiral during that time yes, but, he wasnt mentioned until after episode 6, in the EU. He was the top imperial warlord there for awhile

Gotta love the cameo of Topper! Cool video! Memories... Showing my age here! I was dying with the floppy insertion! All I could ever get that vintage computer to do was Lotus programs... and the commands were not as user friendly as they are now in Xcel! Anyway... glad to see you made good use of the beast in the basement! Happy New Year! Talk soon!
