I know hun, the mac marketing just sucks it makes you buy and buy and want more.
If you haven't used it can you swap it for something else from mac?
I bought both so ceylon and petticoat and want to get soft and gentle (but its permanent so i will wait until i have money) i am just going to use my "so ceylon" as a warm tone blush on me.
i hope u dont mind me saying but i think it looks pretty on you in this video hun? it doesn't appear orange on camera? maybe swap on makeup alley or ebay it
oh my reply got ... ( 2 months ago by ooglegail)
oh my reply got deleted!
I think you're right: it might work for strictly cheekbones only, I will persevere! Wish I got Petticoat- what's it like??
I keep getting swaplifted on MUA I am VERY upset, some ppl there have been SO Mean to me!! I hope I can sell it and get my money back, or at least- good idea- try to exchange...
oh well my fault. I will TRY to love it!!x
Yeah just keep one ... ( 2 months ago by sheena9090)
Yeah just keep one of them for now? I have never done a swap hun but it sounds awful if people are being horrible to you. That irks me :( u are lovely :) maybe sell it on ebay. it is limited ed so hold on to it and from what i gather its a popular one so in a few months u maybe be able to sell it for a profit?
Petticoat is lovely, its a very soft pink with maroony-mauve veining. Its a really soft colour and very wearable and not too shimmery either... you might like it? :) love you gail x
Array ( 2 months ago by ooglegail)
Aww thanks!
haha good thinking, I might do that!!
Oh no, now I want Petticoat- is it really not too shimmery? I may order it online...unless I risk swap again. Are you on MUA btw?
It does have ... ( 2 months ago by sheena9090)
It does have shimmer but because the colour is soft and pretty it doesn't look overpowering. Its lovely because it can lift the face and counteract sallowness. You can even use with a very light hand on temples and obviously on your cheeks etc bit like a bronzer. It's a large mineralised brush IMHO, but the texture feels alil softer. I think u wud like it, but i am scared that if you don't u will be out of pocket :( i think i'm on mua but haven't logged in 4ages so cant even remember my username

thats why I love you you're honest! I agree if you use it to contour under a blushie it may work? ;) But it still does look lovely...seriously :) ((HUGS))
yes, good thinking- ... ( 2 months ago by ooglegail)
yes, good thinking- strictly as a contour under another blusher...that would prob work...
Or maybe as my YT blusher, as it seems to look so much less bad here than in real life haha!X

i think that " so ceylon" might not work on your sking, cause u have beautiful porcelain skin...it might be better on regular to darker skin people.
Oh thanks! Do you ... ( 2 months ago by ooglegail)
Oh thanks! Do you think Petticoat would be right> Because I've been dying to get it but trying to see if I can hold off...!
PS I have a confession to make, So Ceylon woks nicely if used strictly as a contour just on the cheekbones, with blush on top. But still a bit of a let down to me...!
Have you got So Ceylon then?
petticoat would ... ( 2 months ago by noracism11)
petticoat would definatly work better on lighter skin but i don't know if it would be "the best match" on porcelain skin. i am medium beige skin and i can barely pull of "so ceylon" and "petty coat"....but i wanted the MSF so badly, so i really didn't care! hehehehehe I wish they made MSF's for more light skin people. i wish i had your porcelain skin...so pretty. MAC caters to darker skins alot...which is good, it's good that they have a range but i think it's hard for porcelain skin people.
You're absolutely ... ( 2 months ago by ooglegail)
You're absolutely right: this is why Estee Lauder has always been my fave. I'm relatively new to MAC (curse YouTube!!Forcing me to became a worse addict haha) but I have *definitely* noticed they do tend to be geared towards darker skintones, or olive and yellow undertones, not good for cool skintones at all. -I have heard that Petticoat is very metallic, that's why I've held off buying it so far.
Thanks! Pale skin is inevitable for me here in UK, it's SO freezing!!(I used to fake tan though)
Sweetheart I got ... ( 2 months ago by filthygorgeousmakeup)
Sweetheart I got petticoat and use it as a blush and it is really pretty. I also got soft and gentle as I am pale like you.. so ceylon and gold one are just too dark for fair skin.. soft and gentle is a lovely highlight colour! You can try to exchange the second one you have not used :) Hope this helps
oh VERY useful to ... ( 2 months ago by ooglegail)
oh VERY useful to hear from a fellow pale face! I will exchange I think. I noticed in one of your tutorials you used soft and gentle and it looked beautiful on you... but as it's perm, I feel like I have to get Petticoat! Which of those 2 is less sparkly? Thanks for your help!!x
Hmmm.. I just went ... ( 2 months ago by filthygorgeousmakeup)
Hmmm.. I just went and swatched them both on myhand and I think Petticoat is just a little less sparkly, though it is still very shimmery, but makes a pretty blush! Maybe try using the so ceylon as a contour or apply it with a fan brush so its not too dark if you dont like the colour :)
Oh good tip! I have ... ( 2 months ago by ooglegail)
Oh good tip! I have a fan brush which I never use, so I'll be glad of the opportunity to whip it out. I'll probably get Petticoat- not too keen on the overly shimmery look as I tend to look shiny... Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it!!
Petticoat would be ... ( 2 weeks ago by staciarose20)
Petticoat would be great for your skintone. I have fair-light skin. It's so pretty with a light touch of it. I understand about being let down over a product. It gets expensive...
I forgot to say, ... ( 2 weeks ago by staciarose20)
I forgot to say, ask the MAC person to let you see different compacts of Petticoat. Some have a little veining, medium and then alot. The raspberry veining is the darkest shade. So with your lighter skin you might want one with only a little or the medium amount of it. I don't know why but MAC makes them like that. Since each are unique, they should know what your talking about if you ask. :)

I forgot to add, I did a vid on Petticoat but deleted it as it wasn't good :(
I'm going to try and do more vids on my latest m/u splurges soon...maybe after the holidays... luckily I think most will be more positive than this experience!
