I dont put any stock into what music critics say. this is a timeless masterpiece. I had never heard that debby boon song until I read your response. Im 24 years old and, thanks to my parents,I have always listened to Gordon Lightfoot. He will live on forever in his music. Debby Boon's song has faded away. It doesnt matter now what was voted best song in '75, The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald stands the test of time.

Gordon's vocal is so distinctive. I just love his narrative and simple guitar work. It is so effective. Does anyone have Daylight Katy?

I first heard Gordon Lightfoot 30 years ago. When I hear him now I still feel the same way...great lyrics, great music and great man. No one has come close to accomplishing what he has . Gordon you are a troubadour in the greatest sense of the word. Thank you.

I'm going to see Lightfoot tonight, and I hope he plays this song. It's one of my favourites, and it has such a mellow, haunting, beautiful sound to it. I'm trying to learn all the parts of it, tha bass line is tough though. The beauty of his music is that it IS music. It sounds just right, with every part in it, its not just some guy wailing on a guitar like some music is today.

Jut a note that might not be so obvious, it looks to me like the same guys are still playing with him that did when I first saw him on American t.v., in the early 70's! The bassist for sure. That is a testament to dedication, loyalty to a great artist, and his art. I truly admire them, and Mr. Lightfoot.
