After a 4 year hiatus, TFF returned in the fall of '89 with Sowing The Seeds Of Love, the lead single off their third LP. The Beatlesque sound of the song was a hit in America and the UK alike, giving the band yet another top 5 hit in both countries, as well as a #1 modern rock hit.

Mejores en letra, o en música, o en ritmo... se puede hablar de muchos "mejores". Quizá esta fue la letra más concienciada y política de TFF pero, por música, otras me gustan más. Si "Sowing..." ya es buena, imagínate cómo me gustan las otras (e.g. Pale Shelter, Mad World, Change, Shout, Woman In Chains). Un saludo.

alabski- Beatlesque sound is right! When Tears For Fears were in the recording studio guess who was also there recording in another room? Paul McCartney! He heard them working on this song from out in the hallway and popped in their room to have a listen. Paul was NOT happy because the verses sound so much like "I Am The Walrus" and TFF even copied the piccolo trumpet sound from "Penny Lane". Oh well, the sincerest form of flattery I guess.

PS - this was a song from just after their real heyday, they obviously had influences, like anyone who grew up in the 60's/70's/80's but they never really needed to imitate anyone, as they were creatively competent in their own right; they had integrity and had no need to copy to get anywhere -- if they reference a Beatles song, it's through appreciation and association of sound, no spin doctoring on the motives please.

YES!! I totally agree. Music in the 2000's suck ass. A few exceptions like "sunrise" by Simply Red and "No Air" by Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks....thats about it.
