The best ballad songwriter ever! His songs bring back great memories of being a very little kid. They take me back to a time when many loved ones were still here. My mom,who passed away many years ago, loved Jim Croce's music and I'm so glad she and my dad played his music back then. Now I play his songs at gigs. I wonder how many people's lives Jim touched through his music. Jim's music will live on forever!!!!!!

I think alot of it has to do with music becoming more computerized and synthesized and musicians getting away from American roots music like blues,country,rockabilly, rhythm and blues. I know for me personally that roots music makes me feel something in my heart and soul that sampling and electronica cannot reach.
