my freind worked at a tim hortons restaurant and when the restaurant is owned by an owner they can give away excess doughnuts if people ask for free after a certain amount of time.
When the restaurant is owned by the chain staff are under strict instructions to toss and stomp it in the garbage.
These are not dumpsterdivers these are heroes.

hey im in a wealthy family myself,i still dumpster dive all the time,but to all you fellow dumpster divers out there,trader joes is #1 for free food,everyday i can i head down there at opening time and watch them toss loads of food,everything you can imagine,its all still good to,just go in back,wait about 30min,hed to the dumpsters and grab a 3+bags full of edible food,i usualy get about a weeks worth everytime i go,and i plan,so before it gets old i head to the donation center and drop it off.

There's a fruit & veg shop in Eastwood, Nottingham. I go either every night after they close, or first thing in morning (between 5am and 530am) to see what goodies they have. Yesterday I got 5 cauliflowers, a huge bag of red potatoes the size of salad potatoes, and five bunches of flowers. This morning, I got a big firm green cabbage and two bunches of flowers. Going again tonight or in morning.
