Tony Robbins had a group of protesters turn up to his firewalking event. They caused quite a bit of commotion as you can beleive and the police was called in. The protesters said it was fake and they had laid down steel bars and dared Tony to do it. Anyways, police came and as they were being taken away, Tony did the walk and proved it could be done. He came out unscathed. I myself haven't done it over steel rods, but I've done 3 fire walks and don't beleive steel would be any different.

They left out the part where Dr. Lichen tried to prove his theory by walking across the coals with steaks on his feet which were not burnt and then throwing them on a red hot pan and having them charred instantly. They leave this out because after the steaks were charred several of the students at that seminar walked across that pan and were not burned. They still have it and you can see people's footprints that walked on it.

Typically those who are less educated tend to believe more garbage rhetoric. Your poor utilization of the English language betrays you. The police WERE called in and this is a bullshit testimonial story with no proof. Next time your cooking slap your hand down on a pan you brought to a red hot temp. After your done peeling the burnt flesh off your palm, let us know how positive thinking helped you get through it. Oh, I have a degree in fire science...you and others like you are wrong.

nyone one can be a critic in the comfort of their own armchair. It takes NO GUTS to critic someone who has absolutely no experience in the situation itself. In the case - firewalking. Takes courage to do the extraordinary.

Stop broadcasting your ignorance to the youtube audience. What do you think one does with a degree in fire science? Go look it up because it isn't hard to figure out. I have yet to see a dying person suddenly be saved by positive thinking and this is simply not how the human body works. If anything you have a mere fraction (if even) of experiance in walking on fire then what I have. Although, I am smart enough to don protective clothing in advance. Try working fire and understanding it.

There is a proved theory of what happens. It is called lydon fross, or laydon frost, something like that, can't pronounce it enough to spell it, to google it. Maybe somebody can help. Anyway, the theory is that if it is hot enough, the heat causes an instant evaporation of moisture which creates a barrier to protect the skin. This is how we cook pancakes. We use a drops of water to test for heat, when they dance on the pan, the evaporation has taken place and the barrier has been created.

As skepticism is required, this seems pretty harmless. If these people believe that their mindset helped them, and this gives them the confidence to be successful in life, where's the harm? The metaphor isn't going to work if the people think it's just a metaphor.

I know what you mean, but I think that religious fundamentalism and conspiracy hypothesis (theory implies it's been tested) is a product of this kind of irrational thought. I'm not trying to be a party pooper, but, we need to nip this irrational behavior in the bud.
