Can't really say it was a bad release by the canucks, because if naslund were to perform the same as last year in the canucks uniform, there was no point of resigning him. He needs a new environment, a new coach and to rid of the leadership burden which was weighing heavily on his shoulder. It was a good signing though by the rangers, he can easily perform the way he did when the west coast express were gelling.

He wasn't that good for the Canucks the last two years. Had two off-years, hated the coach, was an ineffectual leader. Was also making $6 million. Gotta give him credit though, he never complained and be bought into the defensive system that he hated. One of the greatest Canucks. I think he's gonna do much better with the Rangers. Expect 30-35 goals.

Theres no way Naslund's number will get retired at Madison Square Garden. If Jagr couldnt do it in 3 seasons what makes you think Naslund could. Getting your number retired at the garden is something of a premium.
