Can we see all the lyrics and not just the 'racy' part. The song is incredibly power in it's full unedited form, not in excerpts.
PS- It's not a protest against Bush, it's just him laying out the facts about EVERYONE involved. The WHOLE story. :)

Dude, that's pretty ridiculous. That's like only watching Sonny get killed in 'The Godfather' or watching Cagney go to the chair at the end of 'Angels with Dirty Faces' and saying you understand the whole movie's message or story. It's out of context and that cheats the author of his entire message. It's not what one paragraph says and means, it's what the entire thing means as a whole. It's like full screen vs. widescreen.

Ah but when I listen to it I listen to the album or at the least the song.
On first hearing the song I was shocked to hear these lines.
I think it is more like the cover of a book or trailer. If you want more you have to go get it.

By editing the song u remove its objectivity. Doing so is selfish as it robs the writer of his own opinion and uses his respect within the community to put forward your own agenda.
However good ur intentions, it is selfishness and doesnt allow ppl to form their own opinion through its lack of open disclosure.

I agree, you might have the best of intentions, but here, you are taking the artists voice and using it as your own. This song has many meanings to many people, by editing it you are choosing what should and shouldn't be heard from a voice that isn't yours. Don't take it personal, but you might want to replace this post with something else.

That's just plain silly. This is merely a condensed edit of a Tom Waits song to wet your whistle for more. If you like what you hear, then go out and buy the whole song for 99 cents at iTunes. Better yet, just buy the whole 3 CD package, and improve your musical library immediately! If you're a cheap bastard, go pester your public library to order this collection, and then borrow it. It's a keeper!
