Love this song. Things change as we grow older (hopefully wiser). As for the stupid comment about nuking Irak: what all the people, children who also have a right to their hopes, dreams and freedom? Why do some people think they have a right over life and death of others. How sad.

I am trying to find a song, I think Judy Collins sang it. It is a song about Charlie Parker. The lyrics are something like this...." In New York City it had rained that day, the streets were crowded and the skies were grey" then it goes to a chorus " the man was a hero, he played the music of our souls"

I was in Marine boot camp late 1968 and a Drill Instructor had his radio on too loud and I heard this song. The only "oldies"song I heard for 2 months. It was like..there is still another world outside the base. Will never forget that moment. Beutiful song.

nahh i think judy collins has more authisitie in her version much better paints a potrait of somethin that was at one point meaninful something that will never be found again in all of the ages in all the generations its gone and just put it this way.....im not from that era and even i am able to reconize the magic in this version but thats just my opinion
